Basketball Game Preview: East vs. Chaney Cowboys

East hasn't had much luck against Chaney recently, but that could start to change on Friday. East will head out on the road to square off against the Chaney Cowboys at 7:30 p.m.

East is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Branch. The defeat was just more heartbreak for East who fell 50-47 when the teams previously met back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chaney, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Sunday. They put the hurt on Benedictine with a sharp 66-45 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cowboys have posted since January 8th.

Chaney pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

East came up short against Chaney in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-45. Can East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
