Basketball Recap: Columbia's Losing Streak Snapped at 11 Games

There's no place like home for Columbia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-50 victory over the Mid-Carolina Rebels on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Capitals as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Mid-Carolina still got an impressive performance from Jaquon Mckinney, who went 6 for 9 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mckinney a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Myers, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Columbia's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-15. As for Mid-Carolina, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Columbia has already played their next match (against Clinton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mid-Carolina is taking a road trip to face off against Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mid-Carolina is facing Chester at the right time seeing as Chester is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
