Lugoff-Elgin is 0-3 against West Florence since May of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Demons will head out to take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Lugoff-Elgin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Monday, Lugoff-Elgin needed a bit of extra time to put away Myrtle Beach. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Seahawks 7-6.

Cassie Merriweather was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kayley Lynch was incredible, going 1-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Haley Starcher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Florence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Westwood by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Redhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Ashlyn Daisy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kendra Howle was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
West Florence hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Lugoff-Elgin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for West Florence, their record now sits at 16-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lugoff-Elgin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like West Florence struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lugoff-Elgin might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from West Florence in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Demons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
