Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for North Laurel

North Laurel barely beat Harlan County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars never let the Black Bears get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Black Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Dylan Hurley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cooper Parman was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Elza, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

North Laurel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Laurel pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harlan County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18-1 record this season.

North Laurel will challenge Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlan County, they will host Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
