Softball Recap: Dos Pueblos Beats Pacifica for Their Third Straight Win

Dos Pueblos entered their tilt with Pacifica on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tritons by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 back in March.

Kaitlyn Ashby spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Hedricks, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kacey Hurley, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Dos Pueblos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dos Pueblos' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pacifica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dos Pueblos will head out to face off against Santa Barbara at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dos Pueblos is facing Santa Barbara at the right time seeing as Santa Barbara is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Pacifica, they are taking a road trip to square off against Ventura at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ventura's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Pacifica's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
