Softball Recap: Avery Bulldogs vs. Bloomburg Wildcats
Avery extended their postseason success on Friday against Bloomburg. They had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 16-15. 16 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Adalynn Hillis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and 12 unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Alysa Strength was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Joubert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Avery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Avery and bumps their season record up to 5-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Bloomburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Coming up, Avery will face off against Brookeland on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Bloomburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
