Football Recap: Liberal Gets the Win + How To Watch

Liberal took a 38-point loss the last time they faced off against Greenfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 22-20. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 60-22 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Elam Beaman had a dynamite game, rushing for 178 yards and one TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 178 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Maddox Miller helped out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Liberal was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenfield only rushed for 128 rushing yards.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hudson McGuire, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 70 yards and one TD. McGuire didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made 17 total tackles. Another player making a difference was Drake Morrison, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes.

The win got Liberal back to even at 1-1. As for Greenfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
