Basketball Game Preview: New Deal Lions vs. Post Antelopes

The New Deal Lions will head out to face off against the Post Antelopes at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Post took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Deal, who comes in off a win.

New Deal took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 53-29 margin over Ralls. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Post was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 77-19 loss at the hands of New Home. While losing is never fun, the Antelopes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1390th, while the Leopards are ranked 111th).

New Deal pushed their record up to 18-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Post, their loss dropped their record down to 1-22.

Everything came up roses for New Deal against Post when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 57-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Deal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
