Baseball Recap: Colfax Comes Up Short

Colfax was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Boyceville Bulldogs, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Drew Buchner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Grant Cook also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Colfax's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Boyceville, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Colfax will face off against rival Mondovi at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Boyceville is set to challenge their familiar foe Spring Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
