Baseball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 8-11 in the process. They fell 7-3 to the Dawson School Mustangs. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Wyatt Fitzgerald was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

As for Dawson School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On Dawson School's side, Milo Richtel was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs Richtel has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Dawson Kusel, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

While Lyons had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
