Softball Recap: Norwayne Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington, Norwayne was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chippewa Chipps as they made off with a 19-1 win. Considering the Bobcats have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

CJ Moore was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylie Heyden and Kenzie Nawrocki did most of the damage at the plate: Heyden went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Nawrocki went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Makenna Heyden, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Norwayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Norwayne pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Norwayne beat the Chipps by a score of 18-3 on Wednesday.
