Softball Recap: Seymour Indians vs. Pittsfield Saukees

Seymour lost against Pittsfield back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Seymour Indians fell just short of the Pittsfield Saukees by a score of 6-5. Seymour has not had much luck with Pittsfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Olivia Mock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ella Archer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a double.

Even though they lost, Seymour always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pittsfield only posted an OBP of .321.

On Pittsfield's side, Emma Wombles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Rebecca Neupauer was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Grace Henry was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBI.

Seymour now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Pittsfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
