Softball Game Preview: Mellen Granite Diggers vs. South Shore Cardinals

For the second straight game, Mellen will face off against South Shore. The Granite Diggers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m.

Mellen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on South Shore with a sharp 21-2 win on Monday. The Granite Diggers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Mellen's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for South Shore, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
