Ennis fought the good fight in their overtime match against Crandall on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Crandall Pirates by a score of 60-58. Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Ponce, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 15 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Ponce a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Clifford Gigante, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.
Ponce wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Ennis was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crandall only posted three assists.
