Baseball Recap: Moscow Wins Going Away Against Sandpoint

Moscow had won three straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 14-9 to make it four. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Sandpoint Bulldogs. Considering the Bears have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Butch Kiblen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. Moscow is undefeated when Kiblen allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Andrew Hurley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Breese, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Sandpoint, they moved to 12-11 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. The match marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

On Sandpoint's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Shaw, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moscow beat the Bulldogs by a score of 15-5 later that day.
