Soccer Recap: Westbury Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Westbury hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They never let the Austin Mustangs onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Mustangs are ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Sierra and Espoir Bikeyombe scored both of Westbury's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Westbury pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Austin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westbury will challenge Waltrip at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Austin, they will take on Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
