Basketball Recap: Miami East Comes Up Short

Miami East fought the good fight in their overtime game against Milton-Union on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milton-Union Bulldogs. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Milton-Union found their leader in sophomore Addi Case, who posted 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Case has scored at least a third of Milton-Union's points. Sophie Layman was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Miami East's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Milton-Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Miami East will face off against Brookville at 12:30 p.m. on February 15th. As for Milton-Union, they will take on Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley View will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Milton-Union surely won't give up without a fight.
