Rio Grande and Centennial squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Rio Grande had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 16-6. The Ravens' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Sebastian Chavez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Brettelle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Rio Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Centennial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

While Rio Grande had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
