Volleyball Recap: Montezuma-Cortez Victorious

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Montezuma-Cortez came out on top in a nail-biter against Coconino, sneaking past 2-1. For Montezuma-Cortez, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory Coconino walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

TessaMercedes Jackson paced Montezuma-Cortez's offense, picking up seven kills. Jackson got some help from Kescoleigh Boeckman and her 11 assists. Keeley Clarke controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Montezuma-Cortez is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Coconino, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Montezuma-Cortez has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Monument Valley on the 6th. As for Coconino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Page on the 6th.
