Football Game Preview: Glen Rose Tigers vs. Mineral Wells Rams + How To Watch

The Glen Rose Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Mineral Wells Rams at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Glen Rose's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Glen Rose challenged Dunbar on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 43-20. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Wildcats are ranked 720th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Judd Connally continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 195 yards and four TDs. He is becoming a predictor of Glen Rose's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Tyson Sullivan also helped out as he racked up 142 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Glen Rose was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. They are 4-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral Wells). They blew past Burkburnett 63-7 on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mineral Wells' record is now 4-6. As for Glen Rose, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Glen Rose against Mineral Wells when the teams last played back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 63-20 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
