Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Comes Up Short

If Woodlawn was feeling good fresh off their 63-41 takedown of Wayne City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Woodlawn Cardinals took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trico Pioneers. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 40-26.

Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Trico, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-20.

Coming up, Woodlawn will look to defend their home court on Monday against Webber at 6:15 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Woodlawn has won five straight at home, while Webber won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Trico, they will venture away from home to square off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
