Softball Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Bishop Gorman Gaels

Silverado is 0-7 against Bishop Gorman since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Skyhawks will welcome the Gaels at 3:30 p.m. Silverado has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Arbor View hit Silverado with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Skyhawks lost 11-1 to the Aggies. The Skyhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Silverado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Bunce, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Bishop Gorman and Faith Lutheran had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Gaels were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Crusaders on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Gaels, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on CHARLIE SIMI, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. TIFFANY GONZALES was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bishop Gorman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bishop Gorman's victory bumped their record up to 14-9-1. As for Silverado, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
