Softball Recap: Meadville Eagles vs. Norborne Pirates
Meadville couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Norborne Pirates by a score of 18-16 on Monday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Lainee Myers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a double. McKinlee Fletcher was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4.
Even though they lost, Meadville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Meadville will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Atlanta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norborne, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Knob Noster at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
