Basketball Recap: Rayven Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Baptist Hill over Colleton County

It was a proper cat-fight when Baptist Hill faced off against Colleton County on Saturday. The Bobcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 42-20. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 44-16 to the Cougars when the teams met back in December of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Baptist Hill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayven Washington, who posted nine points. Washington has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Shaniya Gathers was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.

Baptist Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Colleton County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Baptist Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-37 victory against Battery Creek on the 30th. As for Colleton County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 46-22 win against Pinewood Prep on the 30th.
