Basketball Recap: Alyxis White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pinedale over Douglas

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pinedale couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Douglas Bearcats on Friday, falling 48-26. The Wranglers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bearcats earlier this season, when they won 57-50.

Pinedale's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyxis White, who posted four points and ten rebounds. Gabrielle Rogers also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Lauren Olsen was her usual excellent self, going 12-for-29 en route to 29 points along with six steals and five boards for Douglas. Olsen's big performance that evening made it 44 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Meyer, who scored nine points.

Pinedale's defeat dropped their record down to 23-3. As for Douglas, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.

Pinedale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-44 victory against Torrington on the 15th. As for Douglas, they have also already played their next game, a 58-55 win against Cody on the 15th.
