Softball Game Preview: Calallen Wildcats vs. Liberty Panthers

For the second straight game, Calallen will face off against Liberty. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Calallen 1.5, Liberty 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Calallen heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell 3-0 to Liberty.

Jordyn Thibodeaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Calallen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brookelynn Meador, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Calallen, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 31-6.
