Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Forward Has No Trouble Against Arvada West

Elizabeth Forward had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Arvada West on Monday. Elizabeth Forward put the hurt on Arvada West with a sharp 11-1 win.

JB Crovak was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Charlie Nigut was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacob Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Elizabeth Forward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arvada West only posted an OBP of .333.

Elizabeth Forward's record now sits at 2-0. As for Arvada West, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.
