Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Picks Up 21st Consecutive Win

Calvary Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Bentonville Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kynzee Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carlie Guile was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Reese Walker, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Calvary Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bentonville only posted an OBP of .300.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Bentonville, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Calvary Baptist Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Sterlington at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bentonville, they are taking a road trip to take on West Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
