The Roxana Shells will face off against the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roxana is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Roxana will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Southwestern, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Shells walked away with an 8-3 win over the Piasa Birds on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shells.

Nick Miles was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kael Hester, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Miles wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Roxana kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwestern only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, St. Louis HomeSchool P's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Alton, falling 19-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Soren Johnson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

St. Louis HomeSchool P's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Roxana, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

Roxana took their win against St. Louis HomeSchool P when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Shells repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
