Baseball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian lost against Itasca back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Wampus Cats by a score of 3-2.

Meridian's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.25 runs. As for Itasca, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

While Meridian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
