Preview: Santa Gertrudis Academy vs. Tuloso-Midway
The Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions will head out on the road to take on the Tuloso-Midway Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Gertrudis Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Santa Gertrudis Academy fell victim to Rockport-Fulton's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 6-0 walloping at the hands of the Pirates.
Meanwhile, Tuloso-Midway kept a clean sheet against Rockport-Fulton on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pirates. The win was just what Tuloso-Midway needed coming off of a 3-0 defeat in their prior game.
Santa Gertrudis Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored one goal over those three matches. As for Tuloso-Midway, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which somehow isn't as good as their 11-2-2 record this season.
Santa Gertrudis Academy took their victory against Tuloso-Midway in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Santa Gertrudis Academy repeat their success, or does Tuloso-Midway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
