Softball Recap: Skyline Wins Going Away Against Handley

Skyline got themselves on the board against Handley on Wednesday, but Handley never followed suit. They blew past the Judges 10-0. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Judges: they've now won nine in a row.

Taylor Doberer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Mackenzie McIntyre looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Meyah Jenkins was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Emma Veitenthal was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Skyline back to even at 10-10. As for Handley, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Skyline will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Judges: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
