Softball Recap: Cobden Has No Trouble Against Agape Christian

Cobden's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Agape Christian Knights as they made off with a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Appleknockers, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Abby Pitts made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Pitts was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Alivia Kilpatrick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cobden's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5. As for Agape Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cobden is set to square off against their familiar foe Dongola at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Agape Christian will face off against rival Century at 4:30 p.m. on May 1.
