Basketball Recap: Mercy Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mercy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 46-40 victory over the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordyn Bay-Kent, who posted six points along with eight boards and four steals. Sophie Miner also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Mercy and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Norwich Free Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mercy Tigers duke it out with the Bishop Guertin Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norwich Free Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-28 victory against Woodstock Academy on the 23rd.
