Soccer Game Preview: Fort Worth Christian vs. Grapevine Faith Christian

The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals will kick their season off against the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

Grapevine Faith Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals back in December of 2024, then bounced right back against Southwest Christian School on Monday. Grapevine Faith Christian's defense stepped up to hand Southwest Christian School a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three games by five goals or more so far this season.

Their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

As for Fort Worth Christian, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (1-2), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Everything went Fort Worth Christian's way against Grapevine Faith Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2016, as Fort Worth Christian made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Worth Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
