Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Prep Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lincoln Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Lincoln Prep was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Victoria Treglia and Lily Frey, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Layna Post and her 12 assists. Annaika Beer controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lincoln Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Lincoln Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Pima on the 22nd. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against San Tan Charter on the 22nd.
