Baseball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington lost against Central back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lexington Golden Bears took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Wildcats. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lexington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Scheetz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Scheetz's launched this season.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Coming up, Lexington will head out to square off against Lauderdale County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will take on Colbert County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Colbert County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
