Volleyball Recap: Assumption Rockets vs. Mercy Jaguars
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Assumption had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Mercy Jaguars as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Rockets as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Assumption walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-16.
Among those leading the charge was Kristen Simon, who had 20 digs.
Mercy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addison Randol, who had nine digs and 15 assists. Randol has been hot , having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.
Assumption has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 35-8 record this season. As for Mercy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 29-15 record.
