Preview: Hancock Bulldogs vs. Dollar Bay Bays
Hancock is 1-9 against Dollar Bay since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hancock Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dollar Bay Bays at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Hancock had to settle for a 41-39 loss against Calumet. Hancock has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Dollar Bay had to suffer through a rough 78-42 loss at the hands of Jeffers. Dollar Bay has struggled against Jeffers recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Dollar Bay saw an underclassman step up: Liam Tourtillott scored 28 points along with 7 rebounds. Tourtillott scored a full 66.7% of Dollar Bay's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Will Beaudoin, who scored 9 points.
Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dollar Bay, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.
Hancock won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February, slipping by Dollar Bay 45-44. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Dollar Bay's Amos Norland, who scored 21 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
