With a playoff win on the line, Dothan rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fairhope Pirates as they made off with an 8-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2021.

Aaron Walker looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emmanuel Lewis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Perrin Gomez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Dothan's record is now 21-10. As for Fairhope, they moved to 27-11 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Dothan by a score of 11-3 later that day.
