Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Kentwood Conquerors

Mt. Rainier hasn't had much luck against Kentwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mt. Rainier Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kentwood Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Mt. Rainier took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 62-54 win over Auburn Riverside. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Ravens are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kentwood came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 71-60.

Kentwood is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Mt. Rainier, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
