Preview: Calvary Academy Lions vs. Covenant Classical Cavaliers
The Calvary Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Covenant Classical Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Covenant Classical is ranked 13th).
Last Friday, Calvary Academy took a serious blow against Abilene Christian, falling 75-30. Calvary Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Covenant Classical had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They managed a 40-34 win over Victory Christian Academy. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Blake Schroeder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, gaining 105 total yards and four touchdowns.
Calvary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Covenant Classical, their win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
