Preview: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Olathe Pirates

Cedaredge is 8-2 against Olathe since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cedaredge Bruins will stay at home for another game and welcome the Olathe Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Cedaredge didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Meeker, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory.

Cedaredge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carley Malinowski led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Malinowski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Hanson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, after only 25 points in their last match, Olathe made sure to put some points up on the board against West Grand on Thursday. Olathe took down West Grand 57-40.

Cedaredge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Olathe, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Cedaredge came up short against Olathe when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 40-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Olathe's Tyra Gray, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Now that Cedaredge knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
