Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Newton (Home School)

Newton (Home School) waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the St. Xavier Rams with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-8, 25-18.

Newton (Home School) found their leader in sophomore Chloe Hoelscher, who had seven digs and two aces.

Newton (Home School) was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Newton (Home School) picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 8-4. As for St. Xavier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, St. Xavier will head out to challenge Flint Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Warriors have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Newton (Home School) will be paying especially close attention to St. Xavier's matchup: after St. Xavier faces off against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF, they'll take on Newton (Home School) again on October 6.
