Soccer Recap: Fossil Ridge Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Fossil Ridge was not quite Aledo's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Aledo Bearcats by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Bearcats are ranked 155th).

Fossil Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Aledo, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Fossil Ridge will head out on the road to challenge Chisholm Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aledo, they will take on Saginaw at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Aledo has won three straight at home, while Saginaw won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
