Baseball Game Preview: Breathitt County Bobcats vs. Wolfe County Wolves

Breathitt County and Wolfe County are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bobcats will host the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Breathitt County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Breathitt County fell victim to Tates Creek and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Commodores. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.

Breathitt County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Howard, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Wolfe County came up short against Johnson Central on Saturday and fell 7-4.

Camden Oliver put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chance Fallen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Breathitt County now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Wolfe County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Breathitt County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wolfe County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
