Basketball Recap: Hoover Falls Short of Harding in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hoover can now relate to. They fell just short of the Harding Raiders by a score of 33-31 on Wednesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Harding's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trinity Taylor, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 15 points and four steals. What's more, Taylor also posted a 40% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ja'Leah Provitt, who posted five points and nine boards.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Harding, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harding, they will square off against Twinsburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
