Volleyball Recap: Corinne Gaubert's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Notre Dame Academy over Marian + How To Watch

Notre Dame Academy lost against Marian back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Notre Dame Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13, 25-17.

Notre Dame Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Corinne Gaubert, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Marian was led to victory by Ashlyn Pelon and Maddison Monroe. Pelon had eight digs and three assists, while Monroe had four digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Monroe a new career-high. Samantha Monroe also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Notre Dame Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Marian, their win bumped their record up to 24-2.

Notre Dame Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Northview on the 25th. As for Marian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Lowell on the 27th.
