Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Academy's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Mary's Academy duked it out with Sterling on Tuesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Mary's Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-22, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Sydney Baseggio, who had seven digs and two aces. Those two aces gave her a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Mary's Academy fell to 3-1. As for Sterling, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, St. Mary's Academy will take on Glenwood Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sterling, they will face off against Weld Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
