Football Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Comes Up Short

Sports Leadership & Management extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They fell 36-26 to the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights. The Bulls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Sports Leadership & Management lost, don't look at Greg Cortez. Despite the final result, he picked up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. Cortez was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards.

As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, the win got them back to even at 2-2. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the game before.

James Monaghan IV was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 320 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 40 yards. 82 of Monaghan IV's passing yards were hauled in by Kwes Young, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Sports Leadership & Management has already played their next contest, a 41-0 victory against Western on the 26th. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-20 win against Sunrise Mountain on the 26th.
